Fireworks on the Rhine Falls
On the 1st of August a spectacular display of fireworks right above the Falls takes place to celebrate the Swiss National Day. The exceptional show draws thousands of visitors to this region every year. The ever changing colours of the Falls, illuminated by the powerful play of the sparks, makes the event an unforgettable experience.

More events

Fasnacht. For many years the Neuhauser Carneval has its traditional parade in the mainstreet on Sunday afternoon. Most of the restaurants and pubs are specially decorated during this time.

Fäscht für alli. During summertime (June to August) regular festivities are held outside of the City Hall, on the square ‘Platz für Alli’. Depending on weather conditions, various music groups provide entertainment every Wednesday night.

1. August. On the Swiss National Day an early-morning walk, organised by the Verkehrsverein (tourist service), takes you to places of interest. At night, as is throughout in Switzerland the celebration will carry on with a huge fire called ‘Höhenfeuer’ on the hilltop. The highlight of the evening starts at about 9.45 pm, irrespective of weather conditions: the traditional fireworks above the greatest Water Falls in Europe.

Chilbi. On the first weekend in September every year the Neuhauser Chilbi, an exciting Fair with lots of entertainment and latest attractions, takes place on the ‘Burgunwiese’.
Trottentheater. The smallish theatre ‘Neuhauser Trottentheater’ is a gem and offers entertainment by professional artists as well as local talent. The program is regularly published in the newspapers and on billboards.

Clubs. A variety of activities are offered in Neuhausen am Rheinfall. A list with details of numerous clubs are available at the City Hall.
